Item: Kumiko Asou
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: This is more of a question. She is called Kumiko Aso(Asô) everywhere: Wikipedia, imdb, Asianwiki.. Why is her primary name here Asou then? I guess it's how you choose to transcribe the "ô", but is there a rule that those names should be transcribled like that? Is it preferred?
I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to have such a question. It's just that I edit a lot of japanese movies right now because that's what I'm watching, so I am also adding quite alot of actors not previously on here. I've mostly added them with the "ô"'s, and sometimes put in alternative names, but I can't find any info on this in the contribution bible. Thanks and sorry for misplaced question.

IMDB https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0039591/ Kumiko Asô (I) - Actress
WIKI https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kumiko_As%C5%8D Kumiko Asō
Add Alternative Names
Add Bio Wiki
The rule speaks in the name currently used in credits.
Or the one used in social networks. Or the best known.
I think it is best to use IMDB. The one from Wikipedia uses a diacritic more difficult to find on Western keyboards.

Butting in here; edited to Aso. I don't remember why I changed it way back then. There's inconsistencies with the naming, and I know I prefer to use the ou version when creating profiles as at least it also finds the o version even without alternative names (when I am lazy ;D) but not the other way around.
Sidenote; IMDb should not really be used as "known for" when talking about non ABC alphabet names.
Most english language JP databases have her as Aso, as does "her company" which is more important; http://www.breathinc.com/artist/f_kumiko-aso.html I also exchanged the dead link (which is probably a fansite), for this one.
Also exchanged the wiki copy pasta overview and exchanged the main name with the profile name like I did before. (it's nice to mention the film she starred in... but that's already listed in the credits, so I don't know why copy pasta that from wiki. Copy pasta overviews should generally not be locked)
