Levardis Robert Martyn Burton, Jr. (born February 16, 1957, height 5' 7" (1,70 m)) professionally known as LeVar Burton, is an American actor, director, producer and author who first came to prominence portraying Kunta Kinte in the 1977 award-winning ABC television miniseries Roots, based on the novel by Alex Haley. He is also well known for his portrayal of Geordi La Forge on the syndicated science fiction series Star Trek: The Next Generation and as the host of the PBS children's program Reading Rainbow. |

Levardis Robert Martyn Burton, Jr. (plus connu sous son nom de scène LeVar Burton) est un acteur et réalisateur américain né le 16 février 1957 à Landstuhl (à l'époque en Allemagne de l'Ouest). Il s'est fait connaître en jouant le personnage de Kunta Kinte jeune pour la série Racines en 1977. Puis sa notoriété a grandi encore lorsqu'il a interprété le personnage du Lieutenant Geordi La Forge dans la série Star Trek : La Nouvelle Génération, d'abord à la télévision en 1987 puis au cinéma à partir de 1994, avec un premier film Star Trek : Générations. |
