Menchaca a été co-réalisateur, co-scénariste et acteur principal du film This Is Where We Live, lauréat du Heartland Film Festival Award en 2013, et a reçu le prix du meilleur acteur au Festival du film de Breckenridge en 2016 pour son rôle principal dans le film Reparation.
