Biography

Jon L. Wanzek is an American film producer and entrepreneur, best known for his work as the founder of Bad Medicine Films. He launched his film career as Executive Producer of Ten Thousand Saints (2015), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Wanzek then produced and developed Valley of Bones (2017), his first full independent feature film, shot largely on his North Dakota ranch and distributed nationwide by Sony Pictures. In 2019, he produced Human Capital, a remake of the acclaimed Italian film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Beyond filmmaking, Jon Wanzek is a successful businessman and former President and CEO of Wanzek Construction. He is also active in investments spanning technology, ranching, and real estate.

Wanzek established the Wanzek Family Foundation in 2009. Through the foundation, he has supported organizations such as the YMCA, University of Notre Dame, Cross Catholic Outreach, and the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, contributing to a wide range of charitable initiatives in his community and beyond.
