Jean-Yves D'Angelo was born into a family of musicians. From the age of 6 he studied piano and music theory. Then, he entered the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris in piano classes and conducting, as well as at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris in classes of specialized solfège and harmony.

From the age of 18, he accompanied in the studio and on stage the greatest French singers: Michel Jonasz, Eddy Mitchell, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Patrick Bruel, Julien Clerc, Florent Pagny, Liane Foly, Charles Aznavour, Maxime Le Forestier , Johnny Hallyday, Alain Chamfort, Bill Deraime, The Enfoirés, Sol En Si, etc.
