Perhaps the start of the movie and the whole idea of it revolving around Edgar Allan Poe is kind of intriguing, but in the end it doesn't really do anything with the idea apart from offering a few nods here and there to Poe, but apart from that they could've replaced Poe with John Smith and it wouldn't have had any effect on the film. The acting is kind of poor and so is the pacing and it just seemed to get worse as it went on. If you want something similar the movie where John Cusack plays Edgar Allan Poe (also titled The Raven) is a much better and more interesting film.
