This was such a disappointment

I was addicted to Super Mario when this movie got released, and I was so excited to see it. I remember feeling so let down by it. It just wasn't what I was expecting at all. Very strange film that bore little resemblance to the games. I'm really not sure why it was connected to the games at all.

I think they were going for a real kingdom of dinosaurland that was present in the earlier games. Princess Daisy was her name instead of peach. Still it is weird and it feels a lot of plot was cut

Terrible movie that in my opinion is so bad it's actually entertaining to watch. I have terrible taste.

Oh, I totally enjoy it in a so-bad-it's-good kind of way. I just remember hating it when I was younger because it was nothing like the video game.

haha. I'm not even sure what I was expecting. I suppose in my 12-year-old mind I expected them to just visually recreate the video game in their set design, costumes, etc.
I suppose if the movie had been made today, they could have done a lot of it using CGI. But I think it would have actually looked pretty cool recreated using practical effects, sets, etc.

Even the actors were disappointed in signing up for a movie that had numerous writers changing the script.
