Discuss The Right Stuff

The portrayal of Gus Grissom in this movie is slanderous and an OUTRIGHT LIE. Grissom was one of the top-tier astronauts in the space program. One of the most intelligent and most achieved of the group, he was on the short list to be first to walk on the moon. Love this flick, but it is FAR from historically accurate. And BTW, a scientific investigation, (well before this movie), confirmed that a malfunction blew the hatch on the Liberty Bell capsule, so... the writers, director and producers of this movie can take a flying leap for mankind!

In other words, you're saying you have no argument. Got it.

Refresh my memory.... Did this movie at least mention that Grissom was part of The Army Air Corps, rather than The Air Force? The latter didn't come into existence until after WWII

I'm not sure. As sloppy as they were with the facts, I doubt it.
