Discuss Lawrence of Arabia

The first time I saw Lawrence Of Arabia was ten years ago, and it's been my second best favorite movie of all time. To me it is nearly perfect in every way.

I love those types of old films. My favorites are the scarlet robe, Ben hur, Spartacus.

@genplant29 : yes, we lived in the area, but the reason Mr. Navarro became Sean's Godfather is that he was visiting the church where Sean was being baptized because no one else would volunteer. That was the one time any of us saw him.

@ArthurGlib : Yes, you're right. LOA was a fim that was simply made (you must be part Vulcan, because, as everyone knows, Vulcans embrace technicalities :-) ). But for me, Lawrence Of Arabia is one of the best movies ever made.

@rarebreed : I keep typing replies to your post but there seems to be a problem with my phone. Once again, the reason I love the scene is because the person he chose to emulate so the humans would feel comfortable around was portrayed by Peter O'Toole as well, a bit of an android. Kind of ironic.

I don't view Peter O'Toole as android like. But if you say so.

@rarebreed :No I didn't mean Peter O'Toole was android like, I meant that the real T.E. Lawrence was a bit of what they called during that time, "an odd duck". Or androidish (Today Lawrence would be considered to have Aspberger's Syndrome, but that's my uneducated opinion). What I meant was that Peter O'Toole was amazing portraying Lawrence. I apologize if I offended you.

I have no idea what you're talking about but okay whatever.

@rarebreed : Yes Peter O'Toole was awarded an honorary Oscar about ten years ago but he wouldn't accept it because he thought it would disqualify him from the competing Oscar. After he was assured that he would wouldn't be prevented to compete, he accepted the Oscar and about three years later, he received his last nomination for Best Actor.

@rarebreed grin I'm sorry about the babbling. It's time for me to stop posting in this tread. It was nice to chat with you.

Thanks. I could have looked it up but I was too lazy. Lol
