Discuss Hotel Transylvania

This is so stupid, why can't people get this right? "Frankenstein" is not the monster, it's the mad scientist who creates it.

In the novel, the monster is identified only via words such as "creature", "monster", "fiend", "wretch", "vile insect", "daemon", "being", and "it". Speaking to Victor Frankenstein, the monster refers to himself as "the Adam of your labors", and elsewhere as someone who "would have" been "your Adam", but is instead "your fallen angel." -- Wikipedia

Because he was made by Dr Frankenstein, so he kind of like his son. Frankie Jr. Lol. And it's easier to say.

I think when this happens, it is because many people are not as familiar with the original story. They know the name, but do not understand that (Victor) Frankenstein was the scientist's name, and the creation's name should be "Frankenstein's Monster". I've almost always known this, because as a kid, I read the novel. I don't think most people had/have whenever they see the various films or incarnations.

I would almost compare it to how when I was growing up, parents thinking Wolverine from Marvel Comics is called "X-Man" since they see X-Men as a title, and him being featured so prominently in a lot of X-Men stories. They are not truly apprised of the OG source material, therefore they don't know that he was not even an original member of the team, or that the X-Men are a collective group, not one person....even though there is a character called X-Man.

You even get this with video games like The Legend of Zelda, and folks thinking that is Link's name.
