Discuss Once Upon a Time in Anatolia

Slow-paced, ambiguous, plotless... Liked it!

It really sneaks up on you... first you think it's going to be about the plot, then you expect some crazy drama and twists, but you find yourself in a complentative, existential procedural, with characters that have depth and realism...

Solid movie... turn off the iphone...

I liked it too, more so for the images than the plot. Ceylan really knows how to make a close up or a stark landscape into something beautiful.

Have you seen his later Winter Sleep? I believe that to be one of the best films of the last ten years.

@rudely_murray I haven't seen that but I'll certainly check it out

Watched it last night, as much as I like Winter Sleep this is a slightly better work. Ceylan is certainly a top shelf director.

Sounds neat, I'll check it out. It sounds like it may be similar to A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, which I liked quite a bit.
