I don't know if anyone else has ever thought that the scene when, after Pat (the nurse) rescues Bond from that machine that Count Lippe puts into overdrive, could be the closest thing to a rape scene in the Bond movie series.

When I was younger, I didn't pay too much about it, but as I've gotten older, the way Bond gets Pat into the sauna room just creeps me out, and I fast forward to the next scene.

Anyone else have any thoughts about this?

By today's standards, yes, that scene does seem a little "rape-y". But this was after all set in the 60s when what a father typically wanted for his daughter was for " a man... to dominate her! To make love to her enough to make her love him!" 🤔

Different times... I found the actual rape scene in Skyfall - where Craig's "Bond" sneaks up, in the shadows, on that poor unknowing former sex worker (as just confessed to Bond!) in the shower 😲 far creepier. Now that was dark...

@The Midi-chlorian Count spy You know, I enjoy our conversations. I didn't think the sex scene in Skyfall wasn't quite rapi-ish because Severine told JB at the bar that she would be on her yacht until midnight, and he got there on time.

And speaking of Severine, I think that the actress who played her, Berenice Lin Marhole is the most beautiful woman (and the most beautiful Bond girl) I have ever seen. I know that you don't like Skyfall, but what do you think about Berenice?

I've only seen Skyfall once, so I've just had to spend some time on the old google images reacquainting myself with her features. Indeed, very beautiful - as to most beautiful bond girl... very difficult question to answer that one!

My vote though would probably go to Diana Rigg.

Personally, I always thought the Judo / barn scene in Goldfinger with Ms. Galore was much more rapey. One of the two things that really bug me about that otherwise solid film.

@mav100000 :I can see your point about the barnyard scene. But I think that it's Honor Blackman who was tossing Sean Connery (or his stuntman) around!

Oh she was! But they both showed off a bit, followed by Bond getting on top while she protested. Always bugged me.

@mav100000 : Yes, I can see your point, especially since in the film it's implied that Pussy is gay (and in the novel she definitely is). I remember when I read the novel as a child I was flabbergasted to read that (my reaction was "but that's not in the movie!").
