스파이더맨: 노 웨이 홈 토론

[Spoilers] I've been seeing online people saying that Aunt May's death was strange or unbelievable cause she was walking around after being stabbed. For some reason, they think getting stabbed or shot means instant death or at least being incapacitated until they die. I'm not sure where that idea comes from (maybe other movies and TV shows?)

I've unfortunately had witnessed a shooting before where I've watched someone die IRL after he was shot in the chest. The shooting happened around 10 years ago in a convention center parking lot in front of a friend and I as we were walking to my car. We saw the whole thing, called and reported it to the police and went to court to give our testimony. Aunt May's death scene was exactly how it went. The guy walked around fine and talked to me for several minutes (and didn't even know he was shot) then suddenly just dropped (at my feet), and after a minute he stopped breathing (I was on the phone begging for help to the emergency operator when that happened). I felt they did a really good job with Aunt May's death, as it was pretty realistic.

A person's reaction to being stabbed or shot is predicated, in no small part on the physical shape that the stabbee or the person with bullet holes in them is in, when they're knifed or shot. Anyone who saw Marissa Tomei swinging around that pole in The Wrestler shouldn't be surprised that she held up as well as she did in NWH

You made me look that up...😏

@BaronOfHair said: Impressive, was it not? Not something any of us expected about that chick from My Cousin Vinny, who really seemed to have been consigned to has-been status up until fairly recently

I...I can't disagree. 😅

They did mention spoilers in the subject heading.

Putting them on ignore for it seems a little harsh.

Nah it was my fault. I forgot to put spoilers at first. I didn't realize until after I posted. I apologize for that. Still whatever, I don't care that he's ignoring me.

If any user was going to still be expecting non spoilers on a film board almost four months after the topic an MCU movie had already been released in cinemas it would be Celluloid Fan.

My initial reaction was basically why he thought I'd care about him ignoring me to announce it yet not say why so I could have fixed the issue quicker. I did figure it out in spite of that, so whatever. 😏

And it was a shocker .... Just like Gwen's from The Amazing Spider Man 2 [the fall beautifully filmed....] .

Another thing I've heard before online is people thinking characters in movies should be screaming after they are shot or stabbed. However in every mass shooting situation, the witnesses have always said they found it surreal when they watch how silent people were when they got shot. I felt like that when I witnessed it myself, and it wasn't until I talked to the guy that I realized he didn't even know he'd even been shot even though I had seen him being shot point blank into his chest.

If this really happened to you, I'm so sorry you had to witness this horrific and traumatic event. But if you're faking this, you're fucked up and you should be full of shame you even dared to mock with this, because there are sadly enough many people that witnessed something like this...

It really did happen to me in San Jose, California inside a parking lot after a car show in 2009. I was held by the police for questioning, and was asked to testify in court after they caught the guy.

Here's a video taken outside of the parking lot after the shooting (I was still inside): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1kBLSHD4Zo

It was all I thought about for a few years after, and I still think about it to this day though not as much anymore.

@NeoLosman said: This being TMDB, we're all thinking about this incident, and wondering "Where is John McClane when you really need him?"

One thing I've learned from the experience is that people believing they can be cowboys and win a shootout with another will probably be surprised when they are still shot by their opponent after they "win".

@Innovator I'm so sorry for you...

It's fine. It's been a long time now, and even then I felt far worse for the guy that died and his family, than for myself.

If that happens in the film, I'm not sure I even want to see it.....
