Oh, it's hard to pick just one! I'd have to go with the wicked witch, who's just so deliciously wicked! And she has a dark sense of humor.

"I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!"

Dorothy: it was an accident!
Witch: I can have accidents too!

So, true! And she's got her own personal band of Flying Monkeys, which everyone could use some of them to do one's bidding!

Is he afraid of a rhinoceros? Imposerous! How about a hippopotamus? Why, he'd thrash him from top to bottomus! Supposing he met an elephant? He'd wrap him up in cellophant! What about a brontosaurus? He'd show him who was king of the forest!

"I do believe in spooks, I do believe in spooks. I do, I do, I do, I do believe in spooks!"

Lol, I could quote this movie all day!

Nobody gets in to see the wizard! Not nobody, not no how!

"You dare to come to me for a heart, do you? You clinking, clanking, clattering collection of caliginous junk!"

Now begone! Before somebody drops a house on you!

The Lion. I'm still looking for courage. slight_smile

The tinman. His bravery and quick thinking saved the day in alot of ways going towards oz

The Wicked Witch, one of the greatest villains in the movies (although 'Wicked' has put a very different spin on her story...)

I'm gonna go with the Munchkins, my favorites being the coroner and of course the Lollipop Guild grin

No one's picked Dorothy as their favourite, and I know we all love her. So, I'll add her name to our list.

I'll go with the one who galvanizes this motley bunch of misfits to confront the Wizard: Dorothy.

And she does it all with class, sweetness, sensitivity, and grace.

I agree w/Dorothy. Amazing characterization and range of emotion by 17-year-old Garland. It made her a star. I'd put the Cowardly Lion next, then the Wicked Witch of the West. Also, Frank Morgan did a great job playing Prof. Marvel, the Wizard, the Gatekeeper, the Carriage Driver and the Guard. He played his roles w/just the right balance of ineptitude and lovable sweetness.

Indeed, PT. Such wonderful, magical characters - and performances - in this movie. This is probably the only movie of 80 (even 70 or 60) years ago that even kids of today have seen and love. It still totally holds up.

Btw, also gotta love those grouchy apple trees in the Haunted Forest. They have spunk!
