Discuss Easy Rider

Watched it recently... Had never seen it before... It holds up well as a movie about that period and about that kind of idealism, both in how misguided it was at times as well as how worthwhile a point of view it was...

It even works in terms of the themes of individuality and conformity... The ending makes the movie, in a symbolic way...

But seeing it today... Far removed from that historical period, i feel the movie can be seen with some detachment... it seems less an idealised version of what people talk about and more of a snapshot of a particular moment... I think it gives the film more depth...

I believe that one of the 2 main guys says, "No one likes a free individual." Regardless of how removed we are in '18 from that period, some things never seem to change.
