In the last movie, Dreyfuss was disintegrated by his own supercriminal weapon.

In this movie, he is right back at his shenanigans without explanation for how he came back. I would have demanded someone be fired for that blunder, but I was too busy laughing my butt off when he was eulogizing the presumably dead Clouseau. He was laughing uncontrollably but everyone thought he was crying.

I'm glad he came back somehow. This movie would have been deadly dull without him.
