"The Last Affair" was originally going to be a hardcore adult film but writer/director Henri Charr (as Henri Charbakshi) ultimately decided to make it a more mainstream product - seeing himself as a great filmmaker (which, at the time, he was not).

The film "A Labor of Love" is a documentary film that followed this film's production (and, oddly, is superior to this one).
