Discuss Warrior

I can't begin to say how great this movie was. The acting was phenomenal, Nick Nolte definitely deserved his Oscar Nomination. Tom Hardy can play any role given to him. I know MMA fans have said the fight scenes were unbelievable but I still liked the action. And if you didn't cry at the end you have no heart.

I concur

I agree with the acting, particularly Hardy. Given the issues the film dealt with it just about steered clear of dissolving into sentimentality, and the three main protagonists were all reasonably believable portrayals, with clear flaws and vulnerabilities (mental health, addiction, materialism).

I'm really surprised the director doesn't seem to have much else acclaimed in his catalogue? I guess he just hit the sweet spot making a film about siblings, with his own brother.

It pips The Fighter and The Wrestler for me despite a few clangers in the script (fighter selection, traveling back from the heart of Afghanistan and the ultimate victor in the tournament etc).
