Discuss Tom & Jerry

In that the script feels like it was written in the 80s-90s. Hotel with big event gets into highjinx as new staffer gets in over her head. Also though I enjoyed the cartoon animal interactions with the live-action people, it's the interactions amongst themselves that felt too much like a throwback. In fact almost all the Tom vs Jerry scenes/jokes were already done in the cartoons. People seeing Tom and Jerry for the first time may enjoy them, but for someone who grew up watching them, I found I was less laughing, but instead repeatedly saying, "Oh yeah, I remember that."

I watched the trailer, looks cute but if I'm going to spend over $10.00 & venture back into a theater it surely will not be for a cartoon!

I saw it on HBO Max, which I got for WW84 and keeping around for Justice League and Godzilla vs Kong.

And since I probably never found any of the Tom vs. Jerry jokes very funny in the first place, this is as good a cue as any to avoid this film.

I watch classic episodes on Telegram: https://t.me/tom_and_jerry_animation

The channel owner upload oldies (not the new crap ones).

I grew up watching T&J and noticed the reused jokes from the classics in the film (Jerry hiding something in his tiny hand then punching Tom in the eye for being nosy for instance laughing ). Overall, it was overly long and spent too much time with the "humans"...I really could care less about that rich couple on the main girl from Kick a$$!

Seems many are complaining of how "urban" the film felt, especially the soundtrack....I think people forget, the original Tom & Jerry always had a "Jazzy" or "Urban" feel to them. Less we forget THIS classic song! laughing

My only complaint about the "urban feel" was how they made Tom's song in the movie unintentionally funny by having a very autotuned T-Pain voice it. I was like why did they just make him sound like a robot? 😂

I just saw it, enjoyed T&J as a 70's kid. The movie was cute. I want to see the original 90's version.
