This film is the reason while I still have a strange feeling jumping in the ocean ;)

I was around when this movie first came out. Beach attendance dropped dramatically!

Jaws was a good book as well. It even has a few different plots if you catch a hold of it.

I can't swim

Right, I could not stand to look at bodies of water even before water had bodies of Jaws victims floating around.

Guess that's because what Barry McGuire says even before Jaws sets out to attack: "And even the River Jordan has bodies floating."

So, you can just imagine everybody's surprise when the sequel "Land Shark" came out to attack city apartment dwellers.

Hey, I could never look at another city apartment after watching that one, "Land Shark," on late night television, to be sure.

So, no, I never wish to see the city nor ever saw the sea ever since, which goes without saying although the cityscape beats the seascape, and neither supplants the landscape.

My fascination/fear of sharks is somewhat to do with an encounter I had when I was about 10... We used to holiday in St. Ives, Cornwall and that place has its fair share of Basking Sharks - all pretty harmless if you know your fish, but anyway, we were diving as we often did from a raft that was anchored off some rocks not too far from shore and I was about to dive when I saw a Basking Shark swim below the raft and felt the swell of it... This motherfucker was big too, it turned up in other sightings around the time and in photos... Estimated at about 30 feet... Now as you all know they are harmless, but seeing a fish that big so close... I wouldn't have wanted a swipe from its tail anyway!
