Discuss Starship Troopers

It's hilarious how far off the critics were on this movie... it's like they couldn't see Verhoeven's satire at all.

I mean, the guy directed Robocop... "I'd buy that for a dollar!"

In some documentary of this movie, Verhoeven said that the society in this movie always needs an enemy and that this movie is PC-cuck propaganda

A couple of critics did. But then some critics are so over the hill they miss everything. The film got generally good reviews on release. And the ones I read definitely didn't miss the satire. One of the reasons I was looking forward to it was the good reviews.

And Verhoeven's satire is not subtle at all, I don't think it's possible to miss it.

It was financially that the film was said to be a failure, not critically.

This is basically documentary at this point...
