Discuss Le Samouraï

Item: Le Samouraï

Language: en-US

Type of Problem: Design_issue

Extra Details: This movie doesn't show up in this website's search even when the exact title "Le Samouraï (1967)" is entered. And it's also not scraping in Kodi or MrMC. Their log files report title not found in database.

Hi, why would you search for an incorrect title? I have never seen that title (with the year in brackets). Searching for the correct title is much better: https://www.themoviedb.org/search?query=Le%20Samoura%C3%AF&language=en-US

If you want to use a year when searching you need to use the y command: Le Samouraï y:1967

I was entering the title as it is set up on my system for scraping with Kodi. As far as I know, the movie title and folder name is supposed to have the release year in parentheses. I assumed that searching on this site works the same way. I guess not.

Any idea then why MrMC and Kodi are not scraping these two French titles correctly?

I'm not familiar with how those scrapers work, but maybe someone else can help you out.

Just tried with Kodi and had no problem. Kodi parses the title and moves the year in parenthesis to the correct query parameter for use with the API. This was the file structure I used:

Movies\Le Samouraï (1967)\Le Samouraï (1967).mkv

If you are still having problems you can post a question on the Kodi Forums, try a manual override, or use a Parsing NFO.

Thank you. I think I'll try out that parsing NFO first.
