Yes. It was that good. The only regret is why they stopped making the show. I mean they didn't miss a beat 10 years later!

"Fans" in this case refers almost exclusively to TV Critics. Sadly for them, I suspect that a great many are busy learning to write code in lieu of reviews these days, so much so that spending two hours on DeadWood: The Movie is an expenditure they really can't afford

Did the critics pan it? As a long time fan of the show, repeatedly watching it all these off years, I can say it was a damn fine effort. Its too hard to wrap things up in such a short amount of time. The writers of GOT could take a lesson from this though.

I don't think anyone panned it.
