Discuss Hexen hexen

I swear movie executives must be REALLY running out of ideas if they feel the need to bring us ANOTHER remake. I really like the original 1992 version of this but is it really necessary to redo it? Sure making Anne Hathaway as the Grand High witch is a bit of an improvement, but to make the protagonists black is a bit too PC for me. It also looks like they going to keep the same ending as before with the boy becoming human again since Chris Rock is narrating this as the older version of the boy. I mean it's bad enough Disney is doing live action films of its animated ones, does WB need to follow in the same footsteps?

It looks like they put to much color schemes instead of it's gothic atmosphere. The grand high witch doesn't seem as scary as the original reveal. The witches seem like they lost their menace. I said it before and I'll say it again. If you want to remake movies do older terrible films and give them a new spin

I agree with Roald Dahl himself, the original movie was just awful. Thankfully some reviewers say this remake may just be a little too scary for younger kids which means it might be a tad closer to what he may have approved of. It's a shame the author never got to see the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie, the weirdness of the remake was far closer to the source material and Depp's Wonka was better than Wilder's. Remakes are justified if the previous attempts just didn't cut the mustard.

I'm fairly sure the original B.F.G. was the only movie adaption that got close to the book, everything else has been someone else's story borrowing some of Dahl's ideas.
