I've watched enough reviews on youtube from reviewers I actually trust that said it was "meh". A lot of them were giving it a C minus to C plus so I knew instantly this is something I am not wasting theater price money on. I knew after bad boys 3 scored really high that rotten tomatoes can't be trusted anymore. And we all know about the IMDB debacle.

I know three people that have seen it, none of whom liked it at all. For what that's worth to you.

Saw it yesterday. A big meh. If the R rated super hero style is going to continue from Suicide Squad, to Deadpool to this it should just stop. Margo Robie does her jugaloo Hardly Quin routine and the BoP take up their time with their origin backstories. Typical long fight scenes. Sure it's colorful and does benefit from a big screen but not much there. Funny thing while watching it I kept thinking that Ewan MacGregors Black Mask was being played by Ed Helms. Looked just so like him to me.

I saw it the day before yesterday with friends. It was ok. There were some really amazing action scenes, and many not so great. As expected from the trailers, 80% of it was Harley, 20% was Birds of Prey, which were nothing like the characters in the comics/cartoons/past tv shows (Huntress was awkward instead of badass, Black Canary only used her scream once, Cassandra Cain shows no fore shading that she'll be Batgirl one day). Ewan Mcgregor's Black Mask was very over the top and entertaining to watch as was Margo Robbie's Harley. I give it a high C.

You all might want to check out the Birds Of Prey SERIES from 2002. I think it's available on dvd now.

Honestly I think this is too bad. I grew up watching Batman TAS and I loved Harley Quinn, I wasn't crazy about her redesign but the character was still more or less the same. I like Robbie as Quinn, I can't really picture another contemporary actress who could possibly do her better.
But then they had to go and make it woke. Sure we can have Thor and Aquaman walking around topless for no reason and women show up to ogle them and that's perfectly okay, women bought tickets to see that. So they then put Robbie in baggy clothes and masculinize most of the other women while race swapping Black Canary and making Cassandra Cain fat and ALSO leaving out Oracle and while ALSO making the main villain a misogynist because of course they did.
It's like these people don't want our money. I love the Harley Quinn character so much I was very close to paying to see the movie especially with the R rating, but then McGregor had to go and open his mouth and I started hearing buzzwords like "male gaze". No thanks, I'll keep my money in my pocket.

I read a review where it said that Ronin Sionis/Black Mask's lair was decorated with "culturally inappropriate art work" refering I believe to the shrunken heads he was showing off to Harley.

I finally got around to watching it
It wasn't boring but it wasn't very good either.
Now either I wasn't paying attention or every male character was a villain and/or an asshole.
That's a strange creative choice for a film in this genre, no wonder it bombed at the box office.

I thought the short-lived Birds Of Prey series, where Mia Sara appeared as Harley Quinn, was better.
