She mentioned this before, as well as in this documentary, that when she was in The Runaways she had her own apartment off of the Sunset Strip, but at the same time they've all said how poor they were and they didn't make a dime performing with The Runaways. Cherie even said they had to beg for money to buy a hamburger. I'm curious how Joan was the only one with her own apartment because she never explains that, only that she did a lot of drugs and drank a lot during that period and afterwards. Maybe a rich girlfriend, or perhaps her parents were paying the bills. Even back then I doubt it was that cheap to rent an apartment in Hollywood.
