Discuss Deep Blue Sea 2

I feel robbed. This is not a sequel but a really poorly done remake. The only difference is that they have substituted bullsharks for short fin makos. I honestly don't know why the studio greenlighted this piece of junk. Except for the fact they are trying to cash in on the popularity of the original Deep Blue Sea. Not surprising since they also did that with Open Water. Which in all honesty was much better. But in the spirit of giving things a chance maybe this won't be as horrible as the preview made it seem.

Dude, it's shit.

Good to know. Think I'll skip the movie then. It's too bad because they had a chance to make something worthwhile. Instead the filmmakers chose to squander resources. I don't suppose they even bothered to ask Thomas Jane to do a cameo.

Happy to help! I love a good shark flick (or even a not-too-bad shark flick) but this was terrible, from lip-reading sharks to baby sharks that squeal as they attack and an ending that made no sense... Yeah this was pretty much a remake of the original, but a lot worse. Go for Sharknado 5 or whatever sequel they're up to now instead, I doubt it'll be worse..!

LOL. Gosh. That does sound terrible. At least in the original they were looking for a cure. In this one--based on the trailer--it sounds like they are just experimenting without a clear goal. Too bad they chose not to simply expand on the first one. I don't mind remakes or reboots if they are well done.

Oh no, they provide a reason, but it is spectacularly stupid. The rich guy is paranoid about AI taking over the world, and decides he wants to make a drug to make people smarter so that they can compete. This whole film is just awful, and not just as a hallow, incredibly bad remake of the original, it even managed to rip off Piranha. Just... ugh. But I can tell you that the third movie is MUCH better. Not good by any means, but actually genuinely enjoyable. Just imagine that one of the sharks from the first film was a Bullshark, and gave birth to pups, which then escaped with her into the ocean at the end of the movie. Then you can skip the second movie altogether.
