I can't take to this movie. I really don't understand why it's so popular. The kids imagination regarding the crooks dressed in striped jumpers was super annoying. Would many people really pay to see the musical?

I always thought the movie was just fair. It had occasional mildly amusing moments like when Ralphie met Santa and then got kicked down the slide. Musicasl are always worse. They are just too cheesy and the songs all have the same stupid vibe and idiotic lyrics. I didn't hang on long enough to see if the Santa part was in the musical. It was just so annoying I had to change the channel.
