I always liked the adult part of the story in the miniseries (despite that stupid spider thing)/book better than the kids one in the miniseries/book/2017 adaptation as i have nothing against the kid part of the story but i've seen kids vs monster done better in Monster squad, The Gate and Stranger Things.
Adults going on an adventure to hunt monsters feels more fresh in my view and i hope they ditch the stupid spider thing that was in the mini-series which was one of the things that hurt the miniseries.

Not all sequels suck! Child's Play 2, Critters 2, Evil Dead 2, Dawn of the Dead, Friday The 13th 2, and more are quality part 2s in the horror genre.

Well, I saw it during the weekend. It didn't suck, but nor did it surpass part 1. It was ok, some things didn't make sense, and there was a lot of references to Stephen King outside of his cameo. Also, it was a little too long, and many scenes/characters whose plot basically went no where could have easily been cut.
As for that post about the moving picking up two decades after the first, didn't the 2 halves of the book do the same thing? I know the mini series did.
