Manchester, the present. Michael divides his time between the job center and the pub. A chance meeting with Lee, an introduction to her Uncle Ian and a heavy night on the lash lead to a job working the door at a Northern Quarter massage parlor. After witnessing the violent death of one of the punters, Michael experiences blood-drenched flashbacks and feels himself being sucked into a twilight world that he doesn't understand but that is irresistibly attractive. When he eventually finds out what goes on in the room below Cloud 9, Michaels' life will never be the same again.

Michael partage son temps entre l'agence pour l'emploi et le pub. Une rencontre fortuite avec Lee, une présentation à son oncle Ian et une nuit SM le mènent à devenir bouncer dans un salon de massage du quartier nord.

Après avoir été témoin de la mort violente de l'un des parieurs, Michael subit des flashbacks sanglants et se sent aspiré dans un monde crépusculaire qu'il ne comprend pas mais qui est irrésistiblement attrayant. Quand il découvrira finalement ce qui se passe dans la pièce sous Cloud 9, la vie de Michael ne sera plus jamais la même.

Michael trabaja en un mugriento barrio colorido con neones en la ciudad de Manchester, en un club nocturno, donde cada noche se encuentra rodeado de negocios con drogas, prostitución, apuestas ilegales e incluso asesinatos. Ese sórdido mundo comienza a resultar atractivo ante sus ojos y desarrolla una personalidad totalmente diferente a como era él. Sobre todo cuando descubre lo que se oculta en la habitación número 9 del local.

Hem arkadaş hem de yeni bir iş edinen genç adamdan mutlusu yoktur. Mutluluk pozları veren genç adam, hayatının bundan sonraki sürecinin refah içerisine ilerleyeceğini düşünse de yanılmaktadır. Hayatta hiçbir şey karşılıksız değildir ve bu durumu en iyi bilecek kişi de Habit izle filmindeki genç adamdır.
