Discuss Jackals

As far as home invasions/cult films go it wasnt bad. They did an ok job at setting up all the characters and tried to give them all depth but they should have focused more on the family dynamics. I mean a divorce dosent really make someone run away and join a cult, they should have shown some sort of abuse or something. Acting was ok, but the end was pretty stupid. Just a, ok change of heart, no explanation needed. I thought it would be more brutal, but it lacked in that department pretty bad actually. Just some usual knife stabs and chocking. Except the Fox girl...she was freaky as hell and hot, great combos. I understand the film makers wanted one location but it just seems cheap, they didnt even utilize most of the location at all. Lighting kind of sucked and they used to much fake fog to make it seem scary...didnt work. At least they tried something different with he intro POV of a cult member going in to kill his family. Im assuming the same would have happened to Justins family, a sort of final initiation. Low budget horror, but at least it knows what it is. A good one time watch at least. A 6/10 for me.

I hated it. Once they took the cult kid to a place that he use to be at as a kid, I knew it was going to be stupid. I don't know where these people were from, but if you own a secluded cabin, you must own a few guns(for critters mostly). When the brother was like "I don't these aholes are serious, or they would've done something by now, I cringed. This fool just seen a guy gutted.

actually, i thought it was bad. paper thin characterisation and plot. what hold do the jackals have over justin? why go to some secluded cabin instead of having him admitted to a clinic? who would bring a tiny baby to a deprogramming in some remote woods? don't get me started on the ending, which was just a full stop. i gave this half out of five.
