Rofl. Not everything is a remake.

Marr, it's clearly a remake of the Anna Nicole Smith movie from 1996. I'll admit, though, that when it comes to topless scenes I prefer Anna to Dwayne. Sorry.

Yeah, I just watched the trailer. Looks nothing like Die Hard.

Die Hardly

It looks like it is dying hard at the box office.

Yeah, it's not good.

I thought it was a very poor combination of 'die hard' meets 'towering inferno'.

With maybe a tiny tiny bit of 'robocop'.

I was going to say almost exactly the same. It's a cross between Towering Inferno and Die Hard.

I imagine the pitch meeting went like this:

So, it's Die Hard

Pass

...in The Towering Inferno

No

...with a high tech homage to Enter the Dragon

Get out of my office!

...we've got a great product placement deal with Duct Tape!

I'm calling security!

The Rock has signed on as the lead.

How much money do you want?

I actually quite enjoyed the film. It's ridiculous but fun and somehow makes you worry that the characters might not make it even though you know they will.

I LOVE that pitch!

The part about Duct Tape! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!

If only it had an Alan Rickman type.

No, not at all.

Die Hard was interesting, had a neat enough concept and had great actors and action.

This was incredibly bland, while it had action - it had nothing to make you feel that you had to root for as despite their being a family involved, the stakes still didn't feel like they were high enough. Not only that but it went on and on, it literally felt like it was going on forever.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think the kids and Neve Campbell really added anything to the movie. The movie probably would've worked equally well (or badly) if they had cut them out all together and, for example, made that chinese guy a part of the Rock's SWAT team in the beginning and then made out he was one of his old friends and he now has to save the chinese guy out of the tower.

Speaking of product placement, am I the only one who got a hankering for a sweet refreshing delicious Pepsi everytime they showed that round logo on top the skyscraper.

Die Hardly or appropriately Die Boringly (the audience as well as the bad guys in the movie) wink

I'm thirsty for Anna Nicole Smith's Skyscraper!
