Not bother. It was nice though to see Argus Flinch

Really? I thought it was ok. The story was predictable, but than again most horror is. The acting was good, not top notch but still good compared to other Hollywood shit. I thought the whole film was very well done. Pacing/editing was perfect for this type of film. The locations and cinematography also stood out for me. I think its a good streaming film for sure. Plus Charlotte Vega is pretty to look at. grin

as immortan joe would say: "mediocre".

totally predictable, not at all scary or unnerving (oh, except for when edward was trying to have sex with his own sister), underdeveloped plot. it was boring imo. it didn't help that the characters were in the main unsympathetic, except for poor sean. rachel came across as cold, haughty and ruthless. i think a big part of her knew she would have to sacrifice sean to get out of that house.

Just watched this, and I can't make heads or tails of the story. The cinematography, lighting, sound design, costuming, and makeup was all pretty good. But there's just not much story to be had, things don't really get explained in any fashion, they just sort of 'happen' and then the movie plods along. Would have been very interesting to see some Lovecraftian madness and/or monsters behind it.

Haven't seen it but from what I have read, incest is the central theme. Generations ago a set of twins had sex & then another set of twins was born (and everything continues in that way, over & over). The punishment for their sin was to forever live in the house.

I picked up on the incest bit, but didn't realize they had to live in the house forever. The Netflix explanation seemed to indicate that if one twin broke the 'rules' then the other twin would suffer for it, so I was expecting some sister-against-brother fighting at the climax of the film or something, but no such luck. Doesn't help that the story doesn't really move for the first 45 - 60 mins into the movie. They wasted so much valuable time on random happenings and scenery, that by the time things were actually occurring, I was way too bored and just couldn't get invested.

With a movie like Tarkovsky's Solaris, you can make a risky move and slow down the first 1/3 of the movie just to bore people out of the theatre, but with a horror movie I think that, as a filmmaker, you have to acknowledge that you aren't making a masterpiece, and just put together a good film for god's sake. Here, I think they were trying too hard to make a masterpiece, instead of just making a decent film. Had this been a popcorn horror flick with some monsters under the house or something, I would have given it 6/10 instead of 4/10.

Sh*y movie, shy acting, sh**y story

Sounds like the presence of Shirley Valentine (jump to the 1:30 mark) could've elevated this production a little higher up the totem pole

Actually, the movie as-is already has a fair bit of nudity. For me, though, that's not much of a selling point, and the lead actress doesn't strike my fancy in the least, and the male nudity they show isn't quite my cup of tea. Seems like some folks think this actress is a fine wine, so maybe you'll appreciate her 'revealing' scenes more than I did.

I found it a silly movie. Doesn't explain the origin of sin, doesn't explain how it ends ... Does a boy she knows the day before die in her place??? And the bullies of the country? Anything on them? A slow, boring and meaningless movie (my opinion)
