Seriously WTF. Can we get some more mods please? Im tired of coming to the boards and having to go back 7 pages to actually see legit topics from people. Please get some more mods or more people will migrate to other sites. :/

I know how you feel OddRob. Maybe should make a complaint in the support section?

Do people actually respond to that?

Someone like me, who carefully creates one single thread for a terrific movie, it now promptly winds up so deeply buried, so quickly, that it doesn't even feel like worth bothering creating threads anymore, that after a day or two will be so far down the list that no one will notice.

The mods definitely would.

It's a little bit unfortunate, but I assume it's done with the best of intentions. It isn't great loading up discussion for a movie and there are no threads. I'm not the chief of police in these parts, but I would say to whoever is doing it:

i) thanks for your efforts but...

ii) stick to one account

iii) maybe limit yourself to two or three new threads per day

For those concerned that your threads will get lost, they will still be there when people search on a film and you'll get repsonses in time. Also, I'd imagine new threads for most films are only going to get a reply within 24hrs maybe 30-40% of the time for a new release (and less for an older film).

I usually just stick to the first page and wait for a while but I'll give something else a go.

I figured it was someone trying to be helpful by getting the ball rolling on some films. I'm not sure it's worth doing multiple discussions/film, but it's probably done with good intentions.

@OddRob , what made you choose this board to post this in? I'm all for more publicity for this film; I'm just curious.

P.S.: It would be good to be able to stay "subscribed" to a board so that you'd get notifications of any activity if you wanted.

It's a bit of a shame, because I love the design of this site more than any of the others post-imdb, but I guess that's already happened. The irony is that we only notice this because due to the low levels of posting here everyone just looks at the most recent movie post pages in the first place. On imdb I'd only ever look at the boards via the films themselves.

It's also a shame that looking at the people section has also been lost as a movie site user as it's just effectively become the Beyonce board. Travis should really just exclude the Beyonce posts from appearing there.

...and even the "Beyoncé" board is more like the "pop person and general chat" board.

I asked the same thing of ONE of the people responsible for some of those threads. Took them a while to respond.

There's always (as has long been the case) so much Beyonce board posting that any of the rest of us who may now and then want to create a thread about an actual actor or actress, it feels like it'll seem out of place - a stray relevant (to TMDb's reason for being) thread in a vast sea of music and pop culture discussions. Doesn't help that, when someone does every so often create an actor/actress thread there, typically no one, or just a person or two, will respond.

Here's the threads that presently are the latest active ones in TMDb's People category: https://www.themoviedb.org/discuss/people

What spam?

What I'm seeing is threads as old as almost 6 months rigth before the most recent new ones.

OddRob meant on TMDb's Movies-category forum, rather than on this specific movie's message board.

Things have been fine for the last day or two though.

I picked this board because of the low activity and since its coming out soon. No other reason. And yes, I meant the spam of all the movie boards. Basically one person creating 7+ topics on one board and pushing down all the other posts down. I really enjoy the layout of this site. I do wish they had a general/off topic section for people to talk about whatever they wanted. I feel there is a lack of growth on this site and that might help. Also more mods helping control the random board spams that happen. I dont know, I guess Im still bitter about IMDB fucking us all over and getting rid of their boards...fuck those guys.

While pulling the plug on General Chat last year was necessary at the time, doing so ultimately served to kill a lot of forward momentum, feeling of energy, and general sense of community that until then had been happening. Now everyone is splintered into their own individual separate things, rarely to, under normal circumstances, ever cross paths and interact with anyone who isn't interested in the same specific things. (And it's not like there's a huge quantity of actual regular users of the TMDb Movie/TV/Celebrity message boards in the first place; it's really just mainly those of us who joined [and have opted to stick around] since the mid-Feb. 2017 closing of the IMDb boards.) Anyone with niche movie/t.v. interests generally gets to enjoy hardly any discussion/interaction with others here, as there may be only one to three or four - if any - other message boards users who actually are interested in the same niche things. It's very disappointing.

On TMDb at present, mainly just members who are horror enthusiasts or interested in the latest blockbusters, or fans of certain specific t.v. series - or of course of pop music singers - ongoingly get to enjoy lots of discussions with others. For anyone else, the boards typically are "crickets" most of the time. General Chat, that TMDb used to have (and which Travis made clear last year isn't ever coming back), helped bridge some of the gap.
