Discuss Roma

I don't get what makes Roma Film of the Year. If it's technicalities like "photography", okay. But the story doesn't move me.

OMG, I finally caught this and...wtf?! It didn't do jack s**t for me either (and mind you I'm LATINO and related to many of the cultural upbringings in this film)...the long panning shots are creative and the film is BEAUTIFUL to look at....but...Best Picture?!?!?! Really?!?!?!?! If this wins I'll be a little pissed I'll admit!

I thought it was pretty good. I think the breakdown of Cleo on the beach was surprising and moving. I had considered how she may have felt with the loss she had gone through, but not necessarily what she said afterward. It was an interesting journey.

I understand why you wouldn't find it best picture worthy but I quite enjoyed it.
