Exclusively made from documentary archive material, the film recounts the parabola of the youngsters who enlivened the extra-parliamentary political battles between 1967 and 1977 and who, with their passions and dreams as well as their violence and crimes, followed the idea of a revolution in an attempt to “storm the heavens.” Divided into three movements as though it were a musical score, the film expresses the feeling we have today about those years, and its choice of materials and editing mixes personal memories, history, moments for thought, and a wish for transfiguration.

Costruito esclusivamente con materiale documentario di archivio, il film racconta la parabola di quei ragazzi che animarono le lotte politiche extraparlamentari negli anni compresi tra il 1967 e il 1977 e che tra slanci e sogni, ma anche tra violenze e delitti, inseguirono l’idea della rivoluzione, tentando l’Assalto al cielo. Diviso in tre movimenti come fosse una partitura musicale, il film esprime il sentimento che oggi conserviamo di quegli anni, mescolando nelle scelte del materiale e di montaggio memoria personale, storia, spunti di riflessione e desiderio di trasfigurazione.
