Discuss Gargoyles

This will be on Svengoolie November 3rd, 2018.

I first saw this as a tv movie of the week years ago. Hope it's as good as I remember!

I remember Gargoyles. Good one. Won't miss it. I think it was released about the same time as the original Night Stalker movie.

Will be on cable TV's Svengoolie (on MeTV) tonight, May 23, 2020.

Svengoolie is a continuation of the Creature Feature shows of the 1970s, where a comic vampire introduces old horror films and cracks jokes. This show is notable for telling trivia about the film, and other films or shows where you might have seen cast members.

Caught it again on one of those channels a few years back. Still good. With actors dressed up like gargoyles and all how could not not be awesome.

I see, from the cast list, that Grayson Hall, who played Dr. Julia Hoffman in the classic daytime soap Dark Shadows, is in this. It's not often she turns up in anything. So, I may check out this movie tonight also to see her performance in it.

Surprising that it's a made-for-t.v. film, as I thought Svengoolie only airs old Universal Studios and Hammer feature films.

Svengoolie shows horror movies over a two-hour time slot. They must be short enough to air with commercials plus his own scenes. He said at the start that he'd gotten lots of requests to show Gargoyles.

If Gargoyles had gotten a theatrical release with a slightly bigger budget, there might have been lots of gargoyle costumes being sold for Halloween.

Scott Glenn was 33 when this was released but he looks really young. He was in his 40s or 50s for most of the films he made that were popular.

It was also on the sister channel 'Movies' this morning. It's a cheesy movie & I feel for Wilde having to lower himself just to make a living.

Thats the life of an actor. Besides have you seen The Naked Prey (65) that he directed, co-wrote and starred in, mostly naked. Yikes!

No, maybe? I just watched a trailer & it doesn't look familiar. But for a man in his early 50's he looked pretty fit. The movie has pretty good ratings on IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, etc. though.

It's pretty out there so be warned

Cornell Wilde always cracks me up that every movie and TV show he manages to get his shirt off. I remember him doing that even on Murder She Wrote. As for the movie, I loved it. And Bernie Casey as the head Gargoyle!
