Discuss My Girl

Who else got a mood ring in the '90s when this movie came out? I did.

I thought they were cool as a kid and bought two of them.

I may be wrong, but I thought the first time they came out was around the mid 70s. I never had one, but that's when I remember seeing them for the first time.

  1. I think they messed up in the movie. The sequel is about the right time for their appearance.

"The mood ring was created in 1975" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mood_ring about the time when I first remember seeing them. "My Girl" (1991,) and the sequel "My Girl 2" (1994...) came out when mood rings had already been in the market for a good 15 years. By that time; they seemed old fashioned to me.

The movies came out in the 90's but they 'took place' in the 70's. The first took place in the summer of 1972. The second was in the spring of 1974.

I don't know if kids of the '90s would have known about mood rings if not for this movie. Maybe I'm wrong.

That's funny; both of those years were before mode rings came to market!

Well you know movies get things wrong all the time. Still good movies though.
