Discuti Ocean's Eight

This is a eye candy movie for men. I don't care about the feminist part, I'll just tune my brain out and watch. Seems like some of you here think it will be bad because it has women in it, to me that sounds a bit undercover gay. Would a Brokeback Mountain reboot starring two women, also make you upset? Look if you're gay, I have no problem with that, but some of you are coming as projecting.

^ Yep! - Exactly this!!

I think it's pathetic that guys spending time with other guys is interpreted as a homosexual impulse by a big swathe of Western men, with the added implication that there's something wrong with being gay, of course. The Oceans movies are about stealing shit. Why do we have to make everything about sex? Whether I watch this or not has nothing to do with what's between the actors' legs.

I don't think the Oceans movies were about crime as much as they were about a night out on the town... The comraderie of friends, the possibility of mischeif as well as the ever present prospect of fun with the opposite sex... The fun part of the night...

This was true of the Sinatra Ocean's 11 movie, as it was of the Clooney versions... The Clooney version added more monogamy and romance in between the flirting, seduction and whoring around... But it was still a playboy lifestyle type movie...

I wonder if the new Oceans movie will retain this sexual element.... While the idea of eye candy might apply to some of the cast, I wonder if they will be lensed that way... Whether the camera will sexualise them, or if instead it will be more of a de-sexed girl-buddies movie... Maybe with a bit of fashion glamour, but without edge...

If done properly it should be much sexier than the somewhat silly Charlie's Angels movies... I don't know if they have it in them to make it sexy...

The trailer seemed quite banal and corporate... It didn't have the verve that the Sinatra Oceans movie had, nor the polish of the first Clooney's Oceans movie... However, the actresses are solid in this and it is always a mistake to judge a movie simply by it's trailer...

I dont understand. How was the original films gay? Because it had an all male cast? By that logic thousands of films would be gay, since they mainly have all male casts. If you want 'eye candy' just watch porn. Its free and looks alot better than this cast. Maybe not Rihanna since shes a little ho, which I approve, but the rest of the cast...not much eye candy. Like someone stated before, the first films was all about camaraderie and living the 'playboy' type of life style. Almost like Bond. Guys wanted to be them and girls wanted to sleep with them. This looks terrible for the simple fact that its a unnecessary cash grab/political virtue signaling. They just took a bunch of actresses and threw them in a Oceans film. A film that no one wanted unless the original cast came back. Same thing with Ghostbusters2016, no one wanted that, especially the fans. That dosent mean people are 'secretly' gay or 'projecting' it means people dont want to see a franchise they love be destroyed to make a buck. Now taking a mostly all female cast and giving them an semi/original story is something else all together. Check out the trailer for 'Widows' when you get a chance, now that looks amazing to me. Even if it is a remake of a TV series I guess. And as for your Brokeback Mountain reference, that would never happen. The gays would riot in the streets and toss glitter bombs at everyone while the queens strangled people with pink boas!

I rate this thread Troll/10.

This post cracks me up. Considering that misogynists ("haters of women") are by definition drawn toward men but take bitter offense to the suggestion of homosexuality because daddy would beat them with the butt of a hunting rifle, I'd say this post is a true psychological win.

if you want to eyecandy yourself just go to pornhub or watch videos in youtube of your fav celebrities... this feminist agenda needs to stop.

they can make NEW movies with different plots... why repeat the same shit they did 3 times with the previous movies? i dont care if the woman is the main character, alien for example is one of my all time favs. but this shit like this movie or for example the ghostbusters 2014 needs to stop.

That doesn't have anything to do with feminism. If you want to blame someone for the lack of originality, blame Hollywood. They do this literally all the time, except this time they happen to have done it with a group of women.

Exactly!!!!! And all those Elizabethan plays from 1500-1700 before women were allowed on stage should remain THE WAY THEY WERE with hunky manly bearded dudes dressing as Lady Macbeth :drools: :then suddenly self conscious, burns a gay flag:

But Hollywood and feminism go hand in hand right now. With the MeToo movement and its popularity, feminism has infiltrated Hollywood like a cancer. Not that Hollywood was amazing before that anyway. But in my opinion its made it alot worse. There are plenty of films with strong female leads. Kill Bill, 10 Things I Hate About You, Pretty Woman, Silence Of The Lambs, Flashdance, The Blind Side, Heathers, Erin Brockovich and Aliens. Its just annoying when they just basically remake a film with an almost all female cast just to capitalize on a trend. And this is def a troll thread...but a good one!

I expect to see a headline soon man arrested for pulling a Pee-Wee Herman while watching Ocean's 8.
