I seriously thought this was the dark universe version for creature from the black lagoon. Anyway the movie looks interesting.

It's the same actor Doug jones, his name is Abe Sapian or something like that in Hellboy. I'm not sure yet if this is part of Hellboy or its own thing.

It clearly is a homage/riff/parody/(Whatever) to The Creature from the Black Lagoon. I hope to catch a reference somewhere in the film.

Looks like it could be the same universe .

Mostly I was thinking that ending was a total ripoff of the ending from Splash.
