Discuss Death Wish

He's already played countless "heroes" who are handy with a gun.

It's called typecasting!!

I'm rather done with Bruce, but the trailer convinced me that he actually seems to be invested in this project. He has demonstrated more expression--and less pervasive boredom--in this trailer than he has in his last five complete films combined. My greater concern is Eli Roth, who seems to be able to make movies that generate catchy trailers but crappy films. We'll see.

Remake and starring Scarlett Johansson as the vigilante.

Has Willis done anything relevant in the past 10 years?

I would agree, but the trailer makes it look more of a dark comedy/revenge flick than the original. And it actually looks like Willis is actually having fun with this one. Im actually excited to see it. And Roth is going to do what he does best, blood and probably throwing in his actress wife in there somewhere.

Or maybe Jodie Foster? Oh, wait....

He probably really believes in the whole "I must protect my family with a gun because the cops are always after the fact too late" right wing rhetoric, so he jumped at the chance to do a project that counters Hollywood's typical left wing rhetoric bent.

You could say the same about Charles Bronson being an established action star. I did like the idea of Kevin Costner, someone who's done action but isn't remembered mainly for those roles. Willis has done his share of comedy and drama, but Die Hard casts a long shadow.

I was on the fence about this one until I saw the critics complaints were all things that could have been said about the original. It was okay.

PAUL GIAMATTI OR JOHN KRAZINSKI WOULD BOTH HAVE BEEN EXCELLENT CHOICES.I LOVE WILLIS BUT WHEN YOU CAST HIM YOU ARE GETTING SOME VERSION OF GRIZZLED MCCLAINE...FOREVER.

I beg to differ. Willis was very definitely not "McClane" in

just to name a few. I'm not the biggest Willis fan, but the guy puts in a lot of work (Netflix is chock full of movies he's in that I'd never even heard of until Netflix), and I think it's rather unfair to fail to see beyond Die Hard.

I AM A BIG WILLIS FAN AND YES ..ALWAYS MCCLAINE...AT LEAST SINCE THE LATE 90S.WITH THE SLIGHT EXCEPTION WHERE HE PLAYS HIMSELF...SUPER COOL WILLIS OLR BAD ASS GRIZZLED MCCLAINE.I LIKE BOTH.BUT THATS THE RANGE OF ROLES THE LAST 20 SOME ODD YEARS.

I've got to ask - why are you YELLING EVERY WORD?

Frankly, beyond it being something we just don't do on the interweb, it makes your thoughts harder to read, and if you believe what you're typing is worth reading, help us out by making it a little less harsh.

Please.

What's with the name-calling? How old are you? You know what, never mind. I don't have time for your crap. One more to add to my blocked list.

VANILLA IS A TERRIBLE COLOR FOR YOU.
