Discuss Sorcerer

I'd never even heard of this and didn't know it was directed by the man behind The Exorcist and The French Connection. To me this is even better than both of them. A classic 1970s slow burning thriller from one of the golden periods of western cinema (for male viewers at least). A couple of particularly engaging set pieces, some beautiful ans breathtaking shots and a final 45mins to rival any I've seen for a while.

Apparently the original French version (The Wages of Fear) is at least as good if not better and a suspension of disbelief is essential, but if you've ever broken out in a cold sweat reversing a caravan, this is the film for you!

Seems I am very late to the party about singing the praises of this film. I can only agree with Mark Kermode's take:

The only thing watching this is that Steve McQueen turned it down. Imagine the film then!
