It is in the horror and thriller genres. It isn't a horror movie in my opinion. It is psychological thriller.

Yep, genre is an ongoing conversation for many!

Horror and thriller are different, but hard to perfectly differentiate. In one of those links above is a nifty suggestion about the position of the main cast (I'll edit this when I find the user's profile and give proper credit @AlienFanatic!) - if they are observing the horror perpetrated on others, it's a thriller; if the main cast are the victims, it's horror. Not perfect, but a decent general rule of thumb.

Cheers :-)

I think it has more to do with the tone of the movie rather than which character is the victim. Surely it is the audience that decides if it is a horror or a thriller and I was certainly not horrified at anything on screen. It was more of a comedy thriller/action.

Just because a few people are eaten alive it doesn't make it a horror movie. People dying in movies is quite normal. People die in Marvel movies but it doesn't make it a horror movie.

It was just a shit film from a shit director.

It's a horror-thriller. It has elements of both genres in it.
