Horror and thriller are different, but hard to perfectly differentiate. In one of those links above is a nifty suggestion about the position of the main cast (I'll edit this when I find the user's profile and give proper credit@AlienFanatic!) - if they are observing the horror perpetrated on others, it's a thriller; if the main cast are the victims, it's horror. Not perfect, but a decent general rule of thumb.
I think it has more to do with the tone of the movie rather than which character is the victim. Surely it is the audience that decides if it is a horror or a thriller and I was certainly not horrified at anything on screen. It was more of a comedy thriller/action.
Just because a few people are eaten alive it doesn't make it a horror movie. People dying in movies is quite normal. People die in Marvel movies but it doesn't make it a horror movie.

It's a horror-thriller. It has elements of both genres in it.
