Very good movie. Well directed. Very entertaining, but they dropped the ball at the end.
It was a two hour movie and it went by quick. I thought it was still in the second act and the climax was yet to come, but it let me off easy.
It felt like the directors hit a wall. they told the biographical story of Zuckerberg. He eliminated his rivals. and now what?
He sits alone, yet it just felt like a regular scene. There was not much buildup to the ending and the moods the director wanted to express (perhaps loneliness, success and bittersweetness) weren't really conveyed.
The energetic song to complement the sad ending as the moviegoers walked out the theatre (great song though). The subtitles to indicate social commentary.
Worst of all, worst of all the full circle cliche.
The first scene was Zuckerberg and his girlfriend breaking up, and of course, they had to return to her at the end just to glibly show that everything in the movie was connected to some central theme. him friending his ex is some ironic symbolism of how he developed as a character.
