i had forgotten the opening scene but recognise it now as family guy has spoofed it. the complete title of this is "from the files of police squad", i wonder how many young people today are aware of that these movies are based on an old series with leslie nielsen. i don't remember much of the series, but this movie is a riot, too many funny bits to mention, and it seemed like many roles nielsen got after this tried to copy these three naked gun movies. when he's with the girl and says "i've got nine more", the subtitles in my language had instead translated "i've got plenty more inches".

The best thing I remember were the ending credits, so funny, oh and no OJ Simpson!

I have the series on DVD. They are funny but it feels kind of subdued and less raunchy than the movies. It's probably because it was on a major network at the time. The entire Naked Gun series never gets old for me.

"Police Squad!" - the television series lasts a mere six episodes before its cancellation - but you do lose count of its many sight gags, puns and setups,
With especially memorable performances by - the Dental Receptionist, Mr. Olson the Laboratory Scientist (Ed Williams), and Johnny the Shoe Shine Guy (William Duell).
