Discuss The Meg

In 2005, as part of the American Film Institute (AFI 100 Years... series), AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movie Quotes revealed a list of the top 100 movie quotations in American cinema.

Virtually the entire list celebrated lines that came from 20th century cinema.

What lines of films from this century so far do you think really stand out?

Some personal suggestions that I think may make it on a similar list should it ever be made for the 21st century:

"Why so serious?" - Joker, The Dark Knight

"Chewie, we're home" - Han Solo, The Force Awakens

"I drink your MILKSHAKE!!" - Daniel Plainview, There Will Be Blood

"Stop trying to make fetch happen" - Regina George, Mean Girls

"I did not hit her, it's not true! It's bullshit! I did not hit her! I did not! Oh hi, Mark." - Johnny, The Room

"With great power comes great responsibility" - Uncle Ben, Spider-man

What do you guys think?

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

Rocky Balboa, Rocky Balboa (2006)

Don’t ever let somebody tell you… You can’t do something...You got a dream… You gotta protect it. People can’t do something’ themselves, they wanna tell you you can’t do it. If you want something’, go get it. Period.” - Chris Gardner, The Pursuit of Happyness.

Your quotes arent classic because theyre not from classic films. Great films are far and few in between and last century had more of them. The whole assembly line thing has ruined modern film.

The OP didn't ask for classic quotes from classic movies. The OP asked for memorable quotes from movies from this century. A quote need not be classic in order to be memorable. But I agree, the previous century had more classic movies, but perhaps they are classic because they've stood the test of time. Calling a movie "classic" having been around only a few years is a bit of a stretch for me. I think people throw the "classic" label around too easily these days.

To be fair this century only had 18 years to make movies, it still has a lot to go. The other century had a full century.
