I don't think it was ever revealed what he named her

He names her Moonchild. From what I recall he yells it out of the window during the storm. It’s a lot clearer in the novel that this is the name he gives her.

I heard the book was different. How did he come up with that name?
Also I was going to ask this on the next chapter page, but did it explain how his mother died?
