Sigh... a rare megabudget movie that dares to be thoughtful and take its time to unfold and it will now have the stigma of a huge flop. Depressing news for the few - the majority can just go out and watch Thor a third time.

Perhaps the commercial failure of 2049 will convince filmmakers to stop trying to set up a sequels and to try and make a proper stand alone movie instead... I think they took it for granted that they'll get a chance to do a sequel to 2049... It would have probably been an even better movie had they realised this was their only chance...
