... that replicant as soon as it was "born" ?

The only thing I could figure was that the replicant failed his inspection; it wasn't "perfect". Physically it may have been okay, but I think, somehow, Wallace detected some sort of genetic defect or anomaly.

That's my guess, anyway.

I did notice that this was the only time that his Replicant assistant, Luv, showed any emotion other than anger. She seemed to show some pity for the defective "newborn", and seemed put off by how callously Wallace just killed it without any apparent concern.

Yes, I remember thinking that perhaps she is not such a bad person after all and that perhaps towards the end she would have a change of heart or something along those lines. They were very vague with Wallace's intentions and with that act it just made him out to be a cartoonish bad guy. I kinda got the impression that he fancied himself a god and was perhaps lost in that delusion.

It could also have been a situation of INTIMIDATION where WALLACE was letting LUV know that if she doesn't also measure up or do enough to meet with his approval in some way then he wouldn't hesitate to do the same thing to her as he did to the NEW BORN.

And that also PARALLELS the way that K's BOSS was also obligated to TERMINATE him once he fails the STRESS TEST and therefore isn't useful to her anymore.

But she also gives him 24 or 48 hrs to run away after he FAILS it, whereas if LUV had failed to do something that WALLACE ORDERED her to do, then one also doubts he'd give her the same kind of break or do her the same kind of a favor as K's boss did for him.

And it's also interesting to NOTE how LUV also KILLS K'S boss the same way that WALLACE KILLS the NEW BORN.

So killing the NEW Born was also a LESSON that LUV later puts into practice when she STICKS the KNIFE into the GUT of K's boss.

And that also makes it IRONIC when she BRAGS about how she's the BEST ONE to K when ETHICALLY and MORALLY speaking she's also a COLD BLOODED MONSTER who lacks a SOUL (which is also something that K seems to possess even though his boss also said that he didn't have one).

And the scene with WALLACE killing the NEW BORN also indicates that WALLACE is also someone who LACKS having a SOUL.

Hey hun! Where you been hiding at? grin Hopefully watching some really good movies you can tell me about. It gets tiring slushing through all the crap to find a diamond. Maybe the Oscars (doubtful) will turn us on to some decent flicks.

Check out the topics and the dates.

Where've you been???

Have you seen 3 BILLBOARDS yet?

If so, did you like it???

Also been over at that board, but haven't seen it, just read reviews of it.

No, but it has a fantastic cast. If it is out on DVD already I will have it soon.

Since it was just at the theaters recently, it's highly unlikely it's available on DVD already.

But BLADE RUNNER 2049 has DVD's for sale now for $19.99, and you can also RENT IT or stream it at places like you tube for $4.99.

And since it was also released the first week in OCT, perhaps that also means 3 BILLBOARDS will also be for sale on DVD in just 3 more months from now???

Check out this topic where the BR DIRECTOR also answers some questions about BR 2049:

I just looked it up. It gets released on 2/27:

I think he was trying to come up with a new line of replicants that could procreate and was able to tell that he had failed again, so he terminated it. I think he did it in that callous manner to send a message to Luv.

Thanks for the link MN.

That's amazing how QUICKLY they come out with DVD's for sale now.

Didn't it use to take at least ONE YEAR or longer before that would happen???

Ha ha, yes. Now, if 4 months have gone by and the movie is not out of disk yet, people are like, "Whats the hold up?" . Man, when I was a kid (I know, I sound like the typical "good ol' dayz grandpa") you were lucky to get it on VHS within 2 years of theatrical release. They used to have this thing where only video store owners were allowed to buy to rent out copies for a time before they got released to the general public.

How long has it been this way MN???

I'd say ever since DVDs became the norm, the wait time was reduced to about 6 months and just progressively got less with the internet and pirating. Yes, we can thank pirating for forcing them to release sooner.

Also got into a fight with the friend who paid for my ticket to see BR 2049 who didn't want to do it because he also said it would be out on DVD soon.

And he's also a big RED BOX user (which also sits right outside of the place where he works).

So it also looks like he was right???

Yes, he's right but if you are a big fan of a franchise, film, or any of the players involved then you should support them with box office numbers as those numbers are the most important in Hollywood's eyes.

Good to hear ...

because that was also the COME BACK reply that he was given ...

that one wanted to SUPPORT the film by going to see it ...

so that MORE FILMS like it would get made ...

and LESS of the never ending BORING SUPER HERO FILMS would be keep being made.

But looks like the EFFORT put forth has also been IN VAIN???

worried

I know. I really enjoyed the film but it really has always been that way though hasn't it? Hollywood schlock has always been the big money makers. I think the tide is starting to turn due to the fact that ticket sales have been steadily declining. But a lot of that could be for the very fact we were just discussing. Most people don't even consider supporting their favorite filmmakers. They just care about how soon and cheaply can they see it relegating their decisions to whether or not they want to see it enough to not wait for it to come out on DVD. In all honesty, at this point in my life, I can wait for the film to come out a few months later. I only go to the theaters for the sole purpose of supporting my favorite films/film makers.

That didn't make sense; yeah, it was very stupid and unexplained.
