Discuss Venom

I can't put my finger on it, something about this production felt like a 90's sitcom, something was off about this, I am not if how this production was filmed, Tom Hardy's acting or the 90 minutes that was cut out of this, something about this production made it feel like I was watching a 90's sitcom or Romcom. In fact I was waiting for the stinger from Seinfeld to be used at one point.

Do you mean a zinger? Like “I’ve had yada yada alien possession.”

Yes, exactly, they should’ve had Castanza make an appearance and be Eddie’s buddy.

Maybe a funny buddy would have worked, and Vemon hates him. “I want him out of our apartment!”

I think the sitcom feel came from all the scenes from the character's apartments, (Seinfeld) the love triangle going on with the girlfriend (Friends,) with a villain as threatening as Lenny & Squiggy. After a while to me it was just another Marvel movie or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Parasite.

This movie was just wacky as hell. I thought it would have been slightly more serious in tone, but halfway through, I saw that it wouldn't be. Admittedly, I don't know too much about Venom aside from what I watched on the 90's Spider-Man cartoon and the video games I've played during that period.
